Jack Broderick has been in St John’s Ambulance since he was 5, firstly as a ‘badger’ and then as a cadet from the age of 10. In the past year he has completed over 200 hours of first aid cover at local events such as local fetes and charity fundraising events and at national events such as the Liverpool Rock 'n’ Roll Marathon and The Great Manchester Run. This has been recognised as the highest amount of duty hours in Merseyside.
In addition to this Jack has also taken part in the peer education scheme and is now able to train other young people in first aid.
As a result of these accolades Jack was invited to go down to London on the 21st of June to celebrate St. John's day which consists of a reception at the Mansion House with The Lord Mayor of London and a service at St. Paul's cathedral.
In addition to this, he has been invited as part of the peer education scheme, to go down to London again and train less privileged young people in the East End of London, focusing on first aid around gun and knife crime.
We congratulate Jack on this outstanding achievement.
We will be holding a Scholastic book fair in the library in the week commencing 23rd June. Each Year 7 and 8 form has been timetabled to come in and browse the fair. Books may be purchased at this visit, at break time and at lunch time. If you have any queries about the book fair, please contact Mrs Ward in the library.
Our Open Evenings and Open Day will take place in September 2014
