We would like to offer students the opportunity to attend a 6 week cookery programme .

The programme will include food preparation and cooking skills as well as hygiene, health and safety, the course meets the requirements of the DofE SKILL section.

The programme runs on Wednesday night in the cookery suite between 3:40pm –  5:40pm.  The cost of a 6 week course is £40 per student. Students provide their own ingredients.

If you would like your son to attend please email the DofE team who will arrange for the Cookery option to be added to your ParentPay account.

Please visit the school website cookery page for full details of courses running this school year.

InSchool Shop (Volunteering) - Bronze

The InSchool shop is an ideal opportunity for students to qualify for the volunteering section of their award.  The shop is open during lunch times every day. We sell a range of school related product at competitive prices.  Volunteers must be prepared to work a regular weekly shift for a minimum of at least one hour per week for 12 weeks (bronze).

If you son is interested in being involved in either of these programmes or if you require further information please email the DofE team at dofe@calday.co.uk

We also have a list of opportunities available via other contacts and organisations.  You may view the current list HERE.  Some of these activities are managed or organised by an external party not connected with the school.  It is an individuals responsibility to discuss with their parent/guardian the suitability of the activity and location/venue.
