Support staff vacancies

Pastoral Support Officer (x3)

Contract type:             Permanent, 36 hours per week, term time + 2 weeks 
Grade:                          Band F Pt 12
Actual Salary:              £19,130 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity for three individuals to join our Pastoral Team to support high quality pastoral care that will ensure that every child can develop and have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work within the pastoral team managing the behaviour, welfare and academic achievement of students within our house system. They will work closely with students, parents and staff to remove barriers to learning and will support the development of high standards in all aspects of student behaviour, attitude and learning culture.

Minute Clerk

Contract type:             Permanent, term-time only.  Please note this role is mainly evening work
                                      (5.30 pm to 8.30 pm)
Salary:                          £11.34 per hour (including holiday pay)
Grade:                          Band D Pt 6

We are currently seeking to appoint a competent Minute Clerk to work closely with the Clerk to Governors within the broad current legislative framework for governance of schools and academies in order to support the continuity of governing body business. The main duty of this post involves providing administrative and secretarial support for all Governing Body meetings across the course of the academic year (approximately 10 meetings).

The successful candidate should have good word processing and minute taking skills, be well organised and a good communicator.

Technician

Contract type:             Permanent, 36 hours per week, term time only
Grade:                          Band E Pt 8
Actual salary               £17,169 per annum

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and highly organised technician with specific knowledge of Chemistry.  The purpose of the role is to support the academic staff in the smooth running of the department, offering technical assistance to staff and students in and out of lessons.  Previous experience in a school environment would be advantageous

Calday Grange Grammar School is in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University and The Heath Teaching School and is seeking to appoint highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic future teachers who would like to begin an exciting career in teaching in a prestigious and very successful grammar school.

Support and professional development

We have a bespoke program of training and development which will involve observation of lessons, collaborative teaching, solo teaching and pastoral responsibility working with a form group which will give you a full exposure to the full age and ability range within the school.

As a trainee, you will be assigned a subject mentor and a senior professional coordinating mentor and have regular training sessions covering the requirements and standards needed to become a professional teacher. In addition, there will be external training in Liverpool John Moores University on the theory of teaching.

From September you will be teaching a bespoke timetable approved by your subject mentor having attended a school induction session where you will learn about the ethos andf organisation of the school

Our programme aims to prepare you to:

  • Become an effective secondary school teacher
  • Become knowledgeable subject specialists who can take on later responsibilities in curriculum development
  • Become good classroom practitioner
  • Become successful form tutors and collaborative colleagues.
